The Bubble Bistro Blog is Launched

We aren't bloggers by nature, but we do have an important message to get out to others and we thought this might be a way to help others join us in sharing their story and journey with us.

The Bubble Bistro made its debut in April of 2007 in Austin, Texas at the finish of the BP MS150 , the largest cycling event in the country raising over $13 million for the MS Society. The Bubble Bistro was created to provide a cool haven for those MS Champs to come and be a part of the ride by cheering on and thanking those that pedal the 180 miles for a cure. Three friends went to the MS Lone Star Chapter in Houston with our idea of having a special place for those with MS to find a haven from the heat and a place to congregate to honor those that are riding the MS150.

The idea of the "bubbles "came from Nancy, who was diagonosed with MS eight years ago. Bubbles at the finish line provided a way for Nancy to find her husband and friends in the crowd of bikers, spectators and volunteers. There are literally thousands of people at the finish. Two years ago the heat was overwhelming and Nancy realized that those with MS needed a cool place out of the sun. She and her friend Margaret approached the MS Society and immediately solicited help from their friend, Anne who had also been recently diagonosed with MS. These three have bonded with a common mission....THE SUCCESS OF THE BUBBLE BISTRO!!!! We have been a force to contend with ever since! (Just ask Kelly)

The idea of this Blog is to allow you to contact us to share your story with us. MS affects not only those with the disease, but family, friends, caregivers and others. We want MS Champs to join us in empowering others with your stories and join us at the BUBBLE BISTRO on April 13, 2008!
